Jane Monroe

Jane Monroe was only five when her mother, an avid seamstress, gave her a needle and floss and taught her embroidery stitches, and that simple gift began a lifetime devotion to sewing. In her early teenage years, Jane discovered antiques, and fostered a particular fondness for teddy bears. With an artistic flair both inherited and cultivated, she combined these two devotions into designing and constructing teddies. Her bears are usually made in very limited quantities because every single thread, every color, every blown glass eye is sewn, colored and adorned by Jane herself.
